AN ESSENTIAL MINERAL FOR HEALTH.

Iron is an essential trace mineral required to produce hemoglobin - the protein in our red blood cells that carries oxygen to our tissues - and myoglobin - the protein in our muscles that stores oxygen. Iron is readily available in food, however insufficient Iron is a common problem; especially for women. Lack of Iron can cause a range of issues, from headaches and altered immunity to fatigue and shortness of breath. Iron is also important during pregnancy, where iron demands increase from the second trimester onwards.

Who should take Iron?

Those with a greater need for Iron than others can include pregnant women, individuals with diasgnosed iron deficiency, women with heavy periods, and those who follow a plant-based diet.

Does Iron cause digestive discomfort?

Iron supplements are infamous for their unpleasant side effect on the digestive system, however, not all forms are created equal. We’ve used Iron Bisglycinate, which is not only better absorbed, but also has far better tolerability, and paired it with friendly bacteria for a gentle effect on digestion.

Do I need to take Iron if I’m pregnant?

Iron supplementaion is often recommended during pregnancy, and our Iron requirements increase from the second trimester onwards, so supplementing with Iron from this time onwards is a good idea, especially if you may not be meeting your requirements from food. If you are unable to meet your iron requirements from food, Iron supplementation is a good idea during pregnancy, and we recommend discussing this with your doctor. Is Essential Iron Complex suitable for children?

Essential Iron is suitable for teens over 14 years of age. If your child is under 14, we recommend consulting with your doctor before starting Iron supplementation, or using a dosage specific to your child's age.
