Supplements
Which supplements should I take?

If you’re unsure of what to take, we’ve created a consultation form to help personalise your programme and ensure you take supplements specific to your goals and concerns. You can take the consultation HERE

Can I take your supplements when pregnant?

Skin Clinic and Cellular Defence must
be strictly avoided whilst pregnant as they both contain Vitamin A Whilst some of our supplements are fine to take if you
have an uncomplicated pregnancy, like Essential D3/k2 and Essential Omegas,
it’s best to check with your doctor or practitioner before taking any
supplements.

Can children take your supplements?

No, the dosages provided in our formulations are
for adults.

Are your products vegan?

Wherever possible, we strive to keep our formulations vegan. We have two supplements that are not vegan: our Essential Omega are from marine sources the capsule for our Essential GLA is not vegan.

Do you use fillers or additives?

We are obsessed with the quality of our supplements and ensure that no toxic, potentially damaging or unnecessary fillers are in our supplements. While there is a need to use certain flow agents, we only use non-bioactive ingredients when there is a strict need, and we’ve made sure that they are as natural as possible. Our flow agents adhere to the Clean Label movement, which is a consumer-driven initiative that calls for transparency and natural, simple ingredients. We use minimal amounts of Bamboo Silica and stone-ground brown rice flour as our main flow agents, whereas other brands use Magnesium Stearate (a lubricant that can cause gut inflammation and block nutrient absorption), Magnesium Silica (talcum powder) and other undesirable chemicals.

Do your products contain allergens?
What is the shelf life of your products?

You’ll find the use by date on the bottom of each of our jars. Our tinctures have the use by date on the side of the bottle.

How long will they take to work?

This will be different for everyone and depend on your starting point. Some individuals feel the effects of supplementation immediately, whereas some effects may take longer to see. For example, our skin turnover takes time, so to see the full effects of skin supplements we recommend a minimum of 3 months.

Can I take your supplements if I’m on medication?

We recommend you always check with your doctor if you have a medical condition or are taking medications before starting a supplement regime. Metabolic Fix is unsuitable for individuals on blood sugar lowering medications unless you are under the supervision of your doctor, as it will potentiate their effects.

Why are your herbal extracts made with alcohol instead of glycerine?

Alcohol is a powerful solvent and allows the active ingredients that aren’t water soluble to be extracted from the herbs. These includes important essential oils, alkaloids, resins active ingredients that aren’t water-soluble, such as essential oils, alkaloids and resins. Since the amount of diluted alcohol ingested is small (only up to 5ml) it is considered negligible and considered safe. If you would like to decrease the amount of alcohol present in the tincture, you can add your dose to a boiling water and take it as a tea. While this won’t get rid of the alcohol in full, it will allow a good proportion of the alcohol to evaporate.

PROGRAMMES
Can I do the 28-day reset if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

— If you are pregnant, we advise that you wait to start the programme until after you have given birth. Calories should never be restricted in pregnancy unless it’s at the advice of your doctor. If you would like to use any of the recipes from our programmes you are welcome to! Please just ignore the serving size and eat as desired.

— If you are breastfeeding, you can start following the nutrition principles of our programmes, however, please ensure you are increasing your portion sizes to meet your caloric needs. Some individuals find that their breast milk production is sensitive to calorie intake. Reducing calories too much during breastfeeding can result in a decrease of breast milk production, so make sure you are mindful and flex up if needed.

— As all our programmes come with suggested exercise regimes, it’s essential that you have been cleared by a doctor to exercise and modify based on your personal circumstances and level of fitness.

Can I do your programmes if I have a medical condition?

Our programmes follow a healthful, whole foods nutrition regime, which should be safe for anyone unless specific allergies are present. Intermittent fasting is incorporated in our programmes, and as such should be avoided by individuals who have disordered eating (anorexia nervosa, bulimia) or are in recovered for disordered eating.  If you are on blood sugar lowering medication or have diabetes, it’s important to consult your doctor because fasting can lower blood sugar further.

Are your programmes vegan?

All our programmes include both omnivorous and vegan options.

Are your seminars in person or digital?

Our seminars are currently delivered digitally.

I can’t make the seminar; will a recording be made available?

Yes! If you purchase a seminar and are unable to attend for any reason, you will be sent a recording that can be viewed for up to 7 days after the event.

RETREATS
What does a typical retreat entail?

All our retreats combine hiking, yoga, nourishing plant-based nutrition and restorative treatments. There are additional workshops to choose from, as well as down-time in the afternoon for you to unwind and relax in the sun.

Who will I be on retreat with?

As well as the core host team at Can Terrades, you will be surrounded by like-minded individuals from around the world. A typical group make up is twelve to fourteen guests, meaning you will have enough time to get to know everyone and have some space for yourself. An open mind and positive outlook are expected, a good sense of humour is always encouraged.

What is the standard of accommodation?

Can Terrades is a beautiful 12-bedroom property nestled in a private 100-acre estate in the Pyrenean foothills north of Girona. Retaining many of its original features and newly renovated to the highest specification, this is the ideal escape. Based at the foot of the Mare de Deu del Mont, we are surrounded by a maze of incredible hiking routes for our daily dose of adventure. The property boasts sweeping mountain views, swimming pools, a yoga barn, gym, and full spa. The region’s finest food is integral to the experience with our resident private chef presenting a variety of freshly prepared meals to enjoy al fresco in beautiful surroundings. With no detail spared, we guarantee a complete, luxury experience from the moment you arrive.

Is there time for additional activities?

You have approximately three hours of down time every afternoon which you are free to use to take a stroll and explore the surrounding area or make use of the property’s facilities as you please.

Every 7-day retreat will include a cooking workshop.

Is every activity mandatory?

Every element of our programmes is carefully designed, with each activity included to help you get the most out of your time with us at Can Terrades. That said, we understand that there might be one or two occasions when you do not feel up to it, particularly if you are new to detoxing. Just speak to our host and we will see what we can do.

Can you help with travel arrangements?

Flights are not included in the programme price; we are not able to book flights but are happy to advise on suitable airports and arrival/departure times.

We offer an airport transfer service from and Barcelona’s El Prat for £100 each way, which can be reserved with our team in advance of your trip. We will be in touch to coordinate arrival and departure transfers for the group as the trip start date approaches. If you have any special requests to help with a smooth arrival or departure, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

What should I bring?

You will receive a packing list in the weeks leading up to your retreat, but you can always expect to need comfortable, sweat-wicking gear for yoga, hiking and any additional workouts, a light, rainproof jacket, and a couple of breathable sweaters as well as comfortable sneakers and hiking shoes.

How fit do I need to be?

We are welcoming and supportive of all levels of fitness. That said, our hikes will get your heart racing so it is important that you follow our pre-retreat guidelines to make sure you are in good aerobic shape before you arrive at Can Terrades. We hike all together, therefore the group sets the pace – the fitter you are, the more quickly the group can move.

Our hikes are a fantastic opportunity to get to know the other people on the retreat, and we actively encourage a supportive environment and discourage overtaking or racing up or down the mountain. There are no prizes for getting to the top or bottom first. We will never leave anyone behind and will always offer words of encouragement, and a cheerful guide to hike by your side if you need it!

MEMBERSHIPS
Do I have to follow the plan every day?

No! The membership is designed support your lifestyle, so you can use it as often asyou wouldlike. If you’re looking to make a change and want tocommit to it,you willsee great results. Equally, if you’re just looking for healthy inspiration, a huge bank of nutrition-forward recipes or a convenient way to meal plan, it will be equally as helpful.

I eat out several times a week, is there any point in following the plan the other days?

Definitely. This is one of the reasons we developed the plan, so that you can stay consistent anddrop the guilt. We want you to feelconfidentabout staying on trackamidsta busy social life.Overindulged on a night out?  You’ll know exactly what to eat the next dayto stay in control.

o I have to select between the omnivore and plant-based options?

No, as a member you will always be able to view both the omnivore and plant-based options.

I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), will the membership help this?

Chances are – yes! But keep in mind, everyone’s IBS is different and is triggered by different foods. While our menus are designed to be easy on the gut and contribute to good microbial health, not everyone reacts in the same ways to the same foods. If you are suffering from IBS and still unsure of what your triggers are, we recommend starting with the 28-Day Reset, which will take you through an elimination and reintroduction programme to help identify what foods suit you best.

I eat meat and don’t want to stop; can I still enjoy the membership?

Of course. You can substitute any of the proteins for your protein of choice.

Why is the membership gluten and dairy free?

Gluten and dairy are two of the most common food allergens and sensitivities. Because of this, and the growing body of research that too much gluten and dairy can contribute to inflammation and exacerbate many symptoms, we have kept them off the menu. We are often exposed to both gluten and dairy through packaged, processed and restaurant foods, so having a source of free-from recipes can help lessen the overall amount you eat even if you aren’t actively avoiding it.

I’m not gluten free or dairy free, will the membership suit me?

Yes! The Membership is designed to help you eat for energy, health, and longevity. Gluten and dairy are only one aspect of how the menus are planned – they are also high in whole foods, fibre, vitamins, and functional phytonutrients. The Membership is also a great source of inspiration, recipes, and a convenient meal planning tool. If you wish to substitute gluten or dairy foods into the plan you are free to do so to suit your preference.

My local supermarket does not have organic meat, what should I do?

It’s hard to sourcehigh qualitymeat. If your supermarketdoes nothave this option, regional farms are a great resource, and when you order direct, thefarmers will alsobenefit. We love Fosse Meadows(https://fossemeadows.com/), but there are many other options available

How do I cancel my membership?

You can cancel your membership at any time with 48 hours' notice. Simply log into your account and cancelfrom there.
